  • The idea of linking Hippocrates' temperaments into an astrological system was developed by at least the Persian period. However, the greatest interpreter of the Galenic corpus in the Middle Ages was Avicenna, who was not interested in astrology. Given this fact, to what extent did a literature develop which used the temperaments astrologically? This lecture will present some example applications of this system, and discuss their modern relevance.
